MP3 Encoders

This page describes the plugins configured for use with CDMaster32.

Here is a small comparison between some encoders^*:

(*) These tests have been run on an Intel Pentium(r) II 400 with 96MB SDRAM (unless specified otherwise), encoding 128k, in a couple of test runs.
Wait for some 'official' benchmarks for real results.
If you like to test it, compare it to other popular encoders and let us know your findings.
(***) What was left of it after we've hacked .wav support in it.

Zittware Recommends:

XingMP3 when using a computer with MultiMedia enhanced eXtensions (MMX).

Pros:

Super Fast MPEG3 Encoding
CommandLine Interface

Cons:

Not Freeware, Costs $20.

Command-Line interface uses 8.3 filenames only.
